At Abide Well we are passionate about facilitating “Isaiah 32:18” communities.[Isaiah 32:18 My people will abide in peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.]We do this through our 5 programs: Home Building, Feeding Program, Community Projects, Scholarships and Entrepreneurship creation.
We build relationships in villages long before we ever place our first block. We engage rural communities on a personal level, communicating with regional chiefs, local pastors, community leaders and eventually with every family in the community. We do this because we take seriously the mistakes of previous well-meaning organizations, those which have come and gone and left behind a damaging cycle of external reliance. We approach the issue of poverty with an asset-based community development model, whereby individuals in communities are encouraged and expected to bring themselves out of poverty.
