COVID-19 Crisis Response

As the apostle Paul was both a tent-maker for his ministry AND supported by churches or individuals, so is Dale. His tent-making income is in the construction industry part-time while also being supported by a small handful of people in order to be available for teaching, speaking, and preaching. However, the COVID-19 crisis arrived on the shores of New Zealand and has temporarily suspended his tent-making income, ministry income, and speaking opportunities.

Urgent Needs

The New Zealand Gov’t made a decision to put the entire country on lockdown for 5 weeks, shutting everything down except ‘essential services’.  This has prevented any construction income for Dale to provide for his family, relying only on a few donors.  Not only that but due to the mandatory lockdown, Capernwray New Zealand was also forced to close their Bible school, sending students home.  Staff positions and wages were temporarily suspended until further notice. Both his tent-making income and his ministry income is suffering due to the COVID-19 crisis.

The forecast for the construction industry in New Zealand is that it will be extremely slow-moving as they attempt to re-start the whole economy.  As a result, many construction workers will either remain unemployed beyond the lockdown or be struggling to find piece-meal work to get by until the building industry picks up enough to sustain the qualified work-force again.  It is also uncertain when New Zealand will open its international borders again so that Capernwray can receive foreign students and begin their Bible school program.

Thank You For Your Prayers & Support

Dale & Patti need financial help!  Would you commit to supporting them during this very difficult time?  Any gift will be greatly appreciated, although a monthly recurring gift is recommended.

On Giving Tuesday, May 5, you have a chance to respond, provide relief, and impact their most urgent needs.  Help them raise $2,000 per month, or $16,000, which will carry them through December 2020.

Meanwhile, Dale is considering and praying about other methods and channels for continuing his teaching ministry, such as possibly going online (YouTube?) to reach a wider audience.  Please pray for him for wisdom as he navigates the work and ministry challenges during this time. Pray for their family, their finances, and pray for how they can serve and be a blessing to the people of New Zealand.
