Supporting Haiti
Heart to heart seeks to build into the next generation in Haiti by empowering Haitian leaders to impact lives one child at a time. This is done through providing access to education, housing for children and community support. We recognize the role that education plays in changing lives; therefore, we provide education, opportunities for scholarship and mentoring of teachers to put forward quality education. Some children do not live near a school or have families who are unable to provide for their needs, so we provide housing for those children in our children’s home. There is a campus nurse, who looks after the physical health of our children, including initiating public health measures. We encourage the children to remain connected with their community, by sending them home to visit during school breaks. Lastly, we support the community through food donations. Haiti is a country fraught with struggle whether it from the physical environment, or political unrest. During these hard times we gather support to provide food for those in need.
