COVID-19 Crisis Response

In 2001 a series of earthquakes shook El Salvador. The devastation from the earthquakes created critical and life-threatening situations. The country had been crippled by natural disasters and civil war, leaving poverty and its struggles as a lingering burden on its people.

Since 2002 Shelter Canada has been working in El Salvador.  With missionaries, local churches, representatives from local communities, Shelter Canada continues to build relationships through the provision of sustainable housing, all in the name of Jesus Christ. Over these years, God has enabled us to develop a growing team of indigenous, in-country staff that are vital in the fulfillment of our shared vision.

Urgent Needs

As many others are experiencing around the world, the quarantining of people and entire societies is wreaking havoc on economies, but also on individual finances. Without the safety nets that are available in many more developed nations, our in-country Salvadoran team is left in a position where many of them do not have the income to put food on the table.

Shelter Canada has made the decision to support our staff financially during these days of uncertainty and extended weeks of quarantine, which also coincides with the beginning of the rainy season. We look to God as our Provider, through His people, to support our team.

Thank You For Your Prayers & Support

Please consider giving to Shelter Canada for COVID-19 relief in support of the staff in El Salvador, to allow them to provide for their families, and put food on the table.
