Aim-Light Ministries provides oversight and administration of two specific projects: Aim-Light High School and the Passion Center for the Elderly in Malawi, Africa. Please see the descriptions below when donating; You may select either project from the drop-down menu. Donations to both ministry projects must be done individually. Thank you kindly for your support and encouragement.
AIM-LIGHT HIGH SCHOOL:
AIM-LIGHT HIGH SCHOOL (ALHS) was launched in 2020 as a Christian-based high school and grew quickly to 150 students by 2023. Malawi provides free education for elementary schools but not for secondary education. In Tsangano, where A-LHS is located, there are 18 elementary schools feeding into only one government high school. There is such a need to help students finish their education as there are so few opportunities for them otherwise.
Serving both boys and girls, A-LHS is nurturing students to be Passionate, have Integrity, and to pursue Excellence within a framework of the Christian faith.
In 2022, with support from Canada, land was purchased, 2 classroom blocks were built along with a well, septic system, and student toilets. This was Phase 1 of building a school that could accommodate 300 students. 2 more classrooms are needed to be built yet as well as finishing off the campus infrastructure.
ALHS CURRENT NEEDS:
Resources for the Library and the Science Classroom are very limited. Until recently there were no books in the school library – many more are needed to meet educational standards.
A lunch hour feeding program is very important, especially in a year like 2023 when the crops were insufficient to provide enough food.
Sanitary supplies for the girls to help them attend school regularly.
Teaching aids for staff and students that may enhance their educational efforts beyond the standard chalkboard – things like projection units and text books.
Too many months the teachers wages are late in being paid since families struggle to meet the tuition payment deadlines.
Completion of the current buildings and adding two more classrooms to the campus.
PASSION CENTER FOR THE ELDERLY:
The Passion Center for the Elderly (PCE) is a ministry to encourage, support and care for the elderly in Malawian society.
The vision of PCE is:
To inspire life-long planning
To strengthen communities to end hunger
To reduce poverty for the elderly, all in the name of Jesus Christ.
To nurture a sense of belonging. The elderly matter to God.
To supply basic needs when possible – such as blankets, food and personal hygiene products.
To provide community-based instruction, based on the principles of the Bible, to help upcoming generations learn about and plan for the latter part of life and living.
PCE CURRENT NEEDS:
Funding to purchase food, blankets and hygiene products
Aid to help in transportation of supplies to area villages
Ministry Development and Training of volunteers
