All over the world, women and children in vulnerable communities are at-risk of abuse and exploitation. Often lacking education and living in poverty, women and children are manipulated by traffickers into the sex trade. When they’re rescued, victims believe they are unworthy of love. They feel ashamed and broken. Survivors (and those at-risk of exploitation) need safety, education and work opportunities to build healthy, independent lives. We believe every person deserves to be free. Over the last 20 years our safe homes have restored the dignity and self-worth of over 600 women and children. Our safe homes provide a healing environment to receive counselling and build healthy relationships. Women and children are educated, often attending school for the first time in their lives. Additionally, we connect individuals with post-secondary or vocational training, helping them to live independent, self-sustaining lives.
