Public schools across Nepal are free of tuition fees. Students have to invest in stationery, uniforms, shoes, notebooks, bags, and other school supplies and education materials for themselves. There are many families who cannot afford to provide their children with their basic school needs. With the help from class teachers, we select students whose family cannot afford school supplies and education materials, and provide for them the materials to help them overcome their family’s financial situation so they can continue their studies.
During COVID19, many families migrated to smaller towns or went back to their villages as it became difficult to find jobs in the city with high living cost. This brought changes to the list of students who were receiving support since their migration. However, there is never a lack of finding students who need our support. We have had to shift our focus to different children.
Since this project requires a long term commitment – having to shift focus to different students, as opposed to the students that we were supporting the past few years, makes it challenging. Those that we supported for a number of years have shifted to a new location and we do not know their progress. Financially, this has also been challenging since we do not have committed sponsors for this project.
Help us provide the necessary stationery, school supplies and education materials to children who come from poor, marginalized and single parent families. This support will allow them to continue their studies for the year. You can also make a long term commitment if you want to make an impact.
Just US $100 or Can $140 a year can change a student’s entire academic year. You can make a difference in a child or children’s life with your contribution.
