Indigenous Allies for Healing and Reconciliation

Our focus is in support of Indigenous-led Healing Circle Training Workshops.  In an era when the effects of abuse from the residential school system is even heavier on our hearts, these workshops are timely tools for community and organization people-helpers as they develop safe places and talking circles to walk with Indigenous individuals on their healing journey out of abuse and trauma.  The caring team of teachers all share personal experiences, professional counseling skills, sacred stories, music, and more to train trainers during this powerful workshop together.  The faith-based and culturally-contextualized Inenimowin Healing Circle Guidebook covers 12 sessions on subjects such as why look at the damage, shame, forgiveness, restoring relationships, and more.

We also work as allies with our Indigenous friends and neighbors in capacity-building workshops.  We connect local churches with Indigenous elders and leaders (both traditional people and followers of the Jesus Way), to foster deeper understanding of Indigenous cultures, worldviews and spirituality.  We do this by way of community-based workshops, delving deeper into our shared histories by way of the Kairos Blanket Exercise, discussions of the TRC and Calls to Action, the Doctrine of Discovery, UNDRIP and current events, etc.
