Teenagers are at the tip of the spear regarding the most difficult challenges facing Christianity and too many churches are equipping them with butter knives. And yet, there remains a significant lack of theologically robust discipleship resources and training opportunities for those who minister to youth.

Calling youth into a faith that’s big enough for them to grow into requires theological renewal. Youth ministers are often the first leaders in the church to address the most controversial issues in our culture. They need to be equipped to navigate these difficult and meaningful conversations with teenagers. Ultimately, if we aren’t teaching teenagers about God then what are we doing?

YPT provides resources, training, and support for youth workers, many of whom do not have formal theological training. These efforts make theological depth accessible for every youth leader. We are also building a network of like-minded advocates among professors and ministry leaders to elevate the dignity of vocational youth ministry.

YPT’s founder, Rev. Dr. Mike McGarry, served as a youth pastor for nearly two decades and most of our content is produced by men and women who are still serving in youth ministry. Our desire is to strengthen the future of the Church by calling teenagers into a faith that’s big enough to grow into. If we don’t disciple this generation today then what will the Church look like in 2050?
